Walk With Confidence - 109207

Myth: Exercise puts me at risk of falling down.
Fact: Regular exercise, by building strength and stamina, prevents loss of bone mass and improves balance, actually reducing your risk of falling.

Walk With Confidence is a structured social walking program that offers support to help participants develop successful exercise routines. Little by little, you will see improvements as you begin to strengthen muscle and improve balanceboth important in staying active and avoiding falls.

This program is designed for people with or without arthritis, and can even be modified to meet the needs of individual participants so that each person can develop an exercise routine that fits their unique goals. All classes will start with a chair warm-up to increase range of motion, improve muscle tone, and promote cardiovascular health, then ease into walking at a comfortable pace.

Canes, walkers, and fitness poles welcome.

Please wear aerobic/fitness shoes, and bring your towel and a bottle of water.

Greenfield Day Lessons B Session - 301GA2

AMERICAN RED CROSS LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
Our Learn to Swim Program follows the comprehensive course levels of the American Red Cross that teach you child how to swim skillfully and safely. The skills taught are progressive so children advance upon completion of all the skills in the previous level.

Our Summer Learn to Swim semester offers daily lessons which mean children do progress faster in their class because of skill repetition. It is not uncommon for children to complete a level or two across the summer months when they are enrolled continuously.

New to our program? Either enroll your child in Starfish (Ages 4-6) or Level One (Ages 6-12) or attend a Swim Pre-test to determine where their swim skills are at.

Class descriptions:
Parent/Child (ages 1-4.5) – parents and children learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control. Each child must be accompanied in the pool by a parent or other caregiver.
Starfish – Preschool Level One (child MUST be 4 years of age on or before the first day of class to enroll in Starfish – no exceptions!) Children learn the basic skills that lay the foundation for swim skill development and strokes.
Seahorse – Preschool Level Two (must have passed Starfish, ages 4-6) Children learn to float without support and recover to vertical. Arm and leg actions on the front and back are stressed.
Goldfish – Preschool Level Three (must have passed Seahorse, ages 4-7) Children learn to effectively coordinate combined arm and leg actions on both front and back. Children typically progress to Level 2 at completion.

Level One – Youth Ages 6 –12 Introduction to Water Skills – this is our Beginner level to develop basic skills that lay the foundation for swimming skills.
Level Two – Youth Ages 6-12 (must have passed Level One) Fundamental Aquatic Skills.
Level Three (must have passed Level Two) Stroke Development
