Instructional Golf - 208700

Take a swing at golf! Learn the fundamentals of the golf swing, including driving, chipping, and putting. The rules of etiquette of the game will be addressed, along with a practical approach of buying golf equipment that is right for you. The first four lessons meet at the practice range (on the golf course property, adjacent to the clubhouse). The fifth lesson meets at the practice green (next to the clubhouse) (Cost: $5). The sixth and final lesson for each series is playing 3 holes on the par 3 practice course (next to the clubhouse).

Note: Please bring a wood and any number iron to the first class. If you do not have equipment, loaners will be available. There will be additional fees for buckets of balls used during lessons (approx. $5 per class).

Summer Playground Note to Parents - 305201

Dear Parents,

Our Summer Playground program takes place between the months of June thru August at select Schools in both the Greenfield and Whitnall School Districts, usually geared towards youth ENTERING K5-6th Grade. As soon as the upcoming summer information is available it will appear here!

The City is not required to be a licensed day care, please check with your tax preparer as this still might qualify as a child care deduction on your taxes. This program may also qualify as child care under a Flexible Benefit Spending program - check with your program administrator.

Print your own Childcare statement is available here on WebTrac, when you are logged in, across the top you will see a button "MY ACCOUNT", in the drop down menu "Childcare Statement" .. select this and the system will generate an email report of your payments made for the Summer Playground program AND/ OR Kid's Connection.

Ice Skating Lessons - 307909

Ice skating is one of the worlds greatest sports! It is fun, challenging, and rewarding for everyone - children, teens, adults, and seniors. Skating can improve coordination and balance, stimulate your heart and circulation, relive stress, and build muscles.

Snowplow Sam
Ages 4 & 5
Introduces preliminary moves to preschool-age skaters. Levels are designed to develop the preliminary coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on the ice.

Basic
Ages 6-15
Carefully-planned levels allow beginning skaters to feel comfortable on ice, while gaining the basic knowledge needed to advance to specialized levels of skate lessons.


Please note: Skate rental is NOT included. Rentals are available for an additional $21 (per 7-week option) or $3 per lesson at the Wilson Ice Center.

If registered for both 7-week periods, the second series is $95.

Family discount: the 3rd person registered in the same family receives a $20 discount.

AARP Smart Driver - 309408

AMERICAN RED CROSS LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
Our Learn to Swim Program follows the comprehensive course levels of the American Red Cross that teach you child how to swim skillfully and safely. The skills taught are progressive so children advance upon completion of all the skills in the previous level.

New to our program? Either enroll your child in Starfish (Ages 4-6) or Level One (Ages 6-12) or attend a Swim Pre-test to determine where their swim skills are at.

Class descriptions:
Parent/Child (ages 1-4.5) – parents and children learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control. Each child must be accompanied in the pool by a parent or other caregiver.
Starfish – Preschool Level One (child MUST be 4 years of age on or before the first day of class to enroll in Starfish – no exceptions!) Children learn the basic skills that lay the foundation for swim skill development and strokes.
Seahorse – Preschool Level Two (must have passed Starfish, ages 4-6) Children learn to float without support and recover to vertical. Arm and leg actions on the front and back are stressed.
Goldfish – Preschool Level Three (must have passed Seahorse, ages 4-7) Children learn to effectively coordinate combined arm and leg actions on both front and back. Children typically progress to Level 2 at completion.
Level One – Youth Ages 6 –12 Introduction to Water Skills – this is our Beginner level to develop basic skills that lay the foundation for swimming skills.
Level Two – Youth Ages 6-12 (must have passed Level One) Fundamental Aquatic Skills.
Level Three (must have passed Level Two) Stroke Development
Level Four (must have passed Level Three) Stroke Improvement
Level Five (must have passed Level Four) Stroke Refinement
Level Six (must have passed Level Five) Stroke Mastery
Beyond Level Six (must have passed Level Six) Stroke Refinements, Fitness Swimming, Junior Lifeguarding skills are just some of the things this level can include.
Private Lessons – Youth, Teen and Adults (Ages 6 & up) Designed to help meet the needs of participants who are seeking more individualized instruction. Instructor is assigned to work one on one to accomplish specific strokes or skills.
